Job Description:

This position is responsible for food preparation, service and clean up as it relates to food service for Mount Sinai and Schwab patients, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Identifies what condiments/diet kit is appropriate for each diet

• Prepares and delivers patient meal trays according to restricted diet guidelines,

• HACCP and department standards.

• Identifies what color menu is appropriate for what diet using Menu Grid

• Sets up tray according to tray diagram. Places utensils on tray appropriately

• Calibrates a thermometer correctly

• Places appropriate types of nutrition supplements on tray according to patient

• menu

• Knowledgeable of trayline equipment use, including sanitation (coffee maker,

• steam table, conveyor belt, lowerators, etc)

• Takes trayline temperatures according to standards and documents appropriately.

• Identifies proper serving utensils and portion sizes.

• Delivers patient trays according to tray passing protocol.

• Dates and labels all food products.

• Performs cleaning and sanitation duties according to department standards.

Minimum Education:

• High School or G.E.D.

• Must be able to read, write and understand English

Minimum Work Experience:

• Previous healthcare, hotel or fast food experience desired
