The individuals we select will diagnose problems to repair and rebuild equipment, perform state inspections and routine vehicle maintenance, transport equipment, and provide road service. Additional responsibilities include ordering and picking up parts, preparing shop work orders, and assistance with clean-up.

 

Diesel Mechanic 3rd Shift Sunday through Thursday 11 PM - 7:30 AM Chicago, IL

Responsibilities:

  • As a Diesel Mechanic, you will maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all assigned equipment.
  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
  • Perform system repairs to include engines, transmission, air and hydraulic systems, tires, drive-train, steering and suspension, electrical and A/C.
  • Perform all preventive maintenance inspections, state and federal mandated safety inspections and complete repairs in accordance with DOT requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tractors, trailers and MHE equipment
  • Maintain clean shop, storage and parts area

Requirements for Chicago Diesel Mechanic:

  • CDL Class "A" license is preferred
  • A clean PSP/MVR
  • 3 or more years of related experience and/or equivalent training
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of hydraulics
  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office and TMT
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 75 pounds
