Job Title:  Correspondent – Industry Verticals

Purpose of Role: To champion the growth of our industry vertical brands Beverage Daily/ DairyReporter.com and BakeryAndSnacks.com/Confectionerynews.com with a key focus on editorial development for the North American markets by:

•             Building strategies and implementing action plans aiming at delivering superior content, specifically targeted for local readerships.

•             Exploring, identifying and recommending brand development opportunities (new content formats, scopes and dissemination modes, brand extensions) suiting the North American markets to upper management, and any other activities relevant to the growth of our brands.

•             Defining and being responsible for the quality of the editorial output in full respect of the established editorial policy and guidelines, and complying with the local legal imperatives.

Key responsibilities & tasks:

•             Working towards a story count of two and occasionally three articles a day, with strict daily deadlines

•             Will be required to deliver broadcast quality video off the back of industry events and one-on-one interviews

•             Will be required to generate at least 30% of copy from own leads and off-diary stories

•             Will be required to deliver high standard copy on industry trends, business, packaging, formulation and R&D

•             Nurture relationships with relevant industry associations, and attend related events

•             Will be required to attend trade shows and conferences throughout the Americas, occasionally further afield

•             Flexibility to also work across all vertical and horizontal titles as needed, including FoodNavigator-USA

Key skills and qualifications required for role:

•             Journalism qualification with a flair for technical/scientific content, or relevant technical experience with demonstrable writing ability

•             Ability to meet daily publishing deadlines

•             Ability to identify leads, deliver breaking news and off-diary content

•             Experience in breaking news in text articles, video, podcast reports or use social media

•             Good prioritising and organising skills
