Brand Strategy Director -Chicago, IL

 

This position is responsible for developing and implementing brand strategies to support Anthem market facing brands, including brand architecture, brand positioning, brand imagery, brand messaging/content and proof points.

 

Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Defines equities and translates brand value into innovative and differentiated propositions and programs.
  • Assesses local and national market opportunities, leveraging consumer research and analytics in order to identify profitable growth areas, and develops/leads the execution of brand building programs to these key market segments.
  • Establishes Brand Councils and other forums for communication in order to integrate activity, align business and brand strategies, and resolve complex brand challenges across the marketing mix and different business segments.
  • Leads the application of marketing concepts and operating strategies (brand positioning, brand architecture, SWOT analysis, competitive assessment, market strategies, consumer segmentation, media planning, trade/consumer promotions, etc.) used in the development and execution of brand building programs.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of brand building programs.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Requires a BA/BS degree
  • 8 years of branding experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Strong business acumen in identifying and executing against revenue opportunities.

  • Proven ability to communicate complex issues simply, clearly and concisely.

  • Solid project management experience

  • Strong communicator who is equally skilled at vetting strategy as they are in implementing it and ensuring Brand compliance

  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.

  • Experience working with virtual teams in a high-matrix, fast-paced environment.
