ALA Receptionist

The American Library Association (ALA) is seeking a full-time receptionist.

The primary function of this role will be to greet and welcome all visitors to ALA in a friendly manner. This position will be part of ALA’s Customer Service Team and will correspond with members via phone and email so being knowledgeable about all areas of ALA will be expected. When not assisting visitors, this position will also do basic data processing including quality assurance data reports.

Key responsibilities include the following:

• Welcoming visitors and managing building software regarding visitors and building access.
• Serving as the ALA operator.
• Communicating with members and customers regarding general email inquiries.
• Executing ongoing data projects.

Salary: Negotiable from $20 an hour, based on relevant experience. This is a benefit eligible regular full-time position. ALA has an excellent benefit package that includes medical, dental, generous paid vacation and retirement annuity.
