The AIM CIO - IT Strategy & Solution Development is an integral member of AIM’s executive leadership team, and is a key contributor to the definition and execution of AIM’s business strategy. This position leads a team of technology and information professionals in defining and executing a strategy-aligned business capabilities platform which positions the company for growth, value, and market leadership.

The objective: Lead an expanding portfolio of technology-driven capabilities, tools, and information which supports AIM’s aggressive expansion into new clinical domains and drives value for an expanding set of clients. AIM’s business model requires its technology platform to be flexible, scalable, configurable, and efficient. The company is also executing several integration projects with third-party systems in support of interoperability with healthcare provider systems and workflow.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Defines direction and oversees technology strategy, architecture, development, installation, and ongoing platform and information maintenance
  • Implements the policies, practices and procedures of AIM and high-performing Information Technology organizations.
  • Has fiscal responsibility for IT budgets.
  • Participates with other executives to establish strategic plans and objectives.
  • Establishes collaborative and responsive advisory relationships with business users.
  • Obtains resources (people, funding, material, support) to achieve strategic priorities of the organization.
  • Recruits and hires qualified staff for assigned areas or functions.
  • Provides effective leadership and management oversight in mobilizing and motivating subordinates to accomplish AIM IT goals and objectives.
  • Develops a strong team culture through training and effective organizational development practices.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: Education and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in Information Technology or a related discipline;
  • 15+ years’ experience leading project teams and providing direction for professional exempt employees; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Expert knowledge of one or more specific technologies, and a broad understanding of the primary areas of a major corporate IT function, including (examples):
  • advanced architecture, emerging software and data management innovations, methodologies, technologies and capabilities;
  • care management, clinical decision support, or population health management systems;
  • electronic medical record (EMR) or order entry systems (CPOE);
  • predictive analytics;
  • information modeling;
  • Full understanding of business operations, prior demonstrated leadership and management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, counsel and train staff, effective communication skills, including facilitation, consultation, negotiation and persuasion.
  • Ability to communicate with customers about technical issues in non-technical terms.
  • Understands the business processes that the system supports.
  • Ability to create strategic IS&T roadmaps driving efficiency across processes and operations
  • Experience managing complex release and deployment processes
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Tibco or similar platforms.
  • Experience balancing a bi-modal organization, maintaining and servicing existing solutions, while building new solutions and capabilities
  • Experience with solutions that provide Software as a Service (SaaS)
