Corporate and Giving Foundation Officer

 

Title: Development Associate – Corporate and Foundation Giving Officer

Reports To: Director of Development

FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a full time exempt position primarily responsible for the management of corporate and foundation giving including the writing of proposals for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects and for submitting timely and accurate reports for all existing grant funded projects

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage proposals to corporate and foundation sources.
  2. Perform comprehensive prospect research to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants.
  3. Work with finance and programs to gather information necessary to report to corporate/foundation funders on current grant programs.
  4. Comply with all reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.
  5. Provide stewardship to current donors, through quarterly touch-points with corporate and foundation donors.
  6. Understanding of institutional history and programs.
  7. Make appointments for President and Director of Development and Communications with foundation officers and other prospects, arrange for onsite tours for supporters (foundation officers, foundation trustees).
  8. Maintain current records in Raiser’s Edge and on electronic server, including grant tracking and reporting.
  9. Track statistics relevant to development and provide department with written materials necessary for donor stewardship.
  10. Assist with other fundraising projects as requested 
     

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  1. Provides tours and greets visitors to Agency facilities. 
  2. Seeks, maintains and shares knowledge in current field.
  3. Willingness to participate in professional development seminars and organizations.
  4. Assists in the planning, coordination and promotion of agency-wide public events.
  5. Other duties as assigned.  

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Three to four years of experience in grant writing or communications.
  • Strong written communication and editing skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
  • Previous experience with non-profit fundraising.
  • Experience working in deadline-driven environments.
  • Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Able to monitor and meet income goals.

Usage of discretion with confidential materials is required.

Physical Demands:

  • Required to frequently sit for extended periods and work extensively on a computer. 
  • ·Required to occasionally lift/move objects weighing in excess of 25 pounds.
  • Must have the visual, hearing, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform the essential functions defined above.

Environment and Scheduling

  • Work is performed during standard business hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Must be flexible and available to work additional hours when necessary
