The Marketing Assistant, Partnerships (Temporary) contributes to the success of the Chicago Zoological Society through the support of revenue-generating marketing programs including sponsorship, hotel partner packages sales, Tree Trim, ticket promotions, group sales, etc. The position supports the identification and execution of partnership agreements through effective communication, administrative support, and positive relationship building.

As the Marketing Assistant, Partnerships you will support all Partnership Marketing revenue-generating programs including group sales, hotel partner program, ticketing programs, Tree Trim and sponsorships. You will be responsible for order processing, customer service, and fulfillment. You will make use of your strong organizational skills while assisting with timely contract execution/tracking, issuing of invoices, and supporting partnership marketing administrative duties. Making use of your strong project management skills, you will identify and research event-related partnerships, sponsorship, and in-kind contributions. As the Marketing Assistant, Partnerships, you will you also serve as a key on-site liaison for sponsor activations.

Position Requirements and Specifications
The requirements for this position include the following:
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
  • Experience adhering to critical timelines/key date schedules required.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong computer skills required, with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to work in a team and have schedule flexibility.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills require.
  • Experience and/or ability to work and interact effectively with a diverse, multicultural audience.
  • Valid driver's license required. Illinois residents must possess a valid Illinois license within 90 days of hire.
    Valid out-of-state license required for out-of-state residents.

The desirable qualifications include:
  • Some college with coursework towards a Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communication desired.
  • Multilingual ability, Spanish fluency a plus.

Additional Information:
This
seasonal position requires the incumbent to work inside and outside of
the zoo during a variety of hours. Due to the nature of the work, the
job requires weekend work. The position hours generally range from
20-35 hours a week. Must be available to work weekends and holidays
from January to December. Partnership Marketing Assistant must
coordinate their own transportation in the event a Society vehicle is
not available. Mileage on personal vehicles will be reimbursed.
Offsite functions may include hotel partner program meetings,
sponsor/partners visits, and events.
