SUMMARY
The forensic interviewer conducts legally sound, neutral, fact-finding interviews with alleged child abuse victims working as a part of a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) including law enforcement, the Department of Children and Family Services, the State's Attorney's Office, and other disciplines involved in the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases to avoid duplicative interviewing. The purpose of the forensic interview in a Child Advocacy Center is to obtain information from a child about the abuse allegation in a developmentally and culturally sensitive, unbiased, legally and fact-finding manner that will support accurate and fair decision making by the MDT within the criminal justice, child protection, and service delivery systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of and sensitivity to family systems and child victimization. Knowledge of the overall child protection and legal system. Ability to communicate effectively with children and adolescents. Academic training or experience in and knowledge of developmental stages of children and the dynamics and effects of child abuse. Excellent written and verbal communication, computer, and mediation skills. Ability to work well on a team and with a variety of disciplines.

Education and/or Experience
Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or another similar field required. One year of experience working with child abuse, child trauma, or the criminal justice system required.
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office software, (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must complete 40-hour nationally accredited forensic interview training within 6 months of hire.
CORPORATE COMPLIANCE
Responsible for remaining up-to-date on all Federal, State and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements, which apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws and regulations
Will comply with all aspects of the Presence Health Corporate Compliance Plan to include the immediate reporting of any known or suspected illegal or unethical behaviors, criminal conduct or patient/employee safety violations or issues
SERVICE PROMISES
Responsible for reading and understanding the Presence Health Service Promises, and committing to modeling and upholding the values of Honesty, Oneness, People, and Excellence.
Will sign an annual commitment statement and will be held accountable for the Service Promises daily and during the annual performance review.
