Ashley Furniture Warehouse/DC Job Fair

Ashley Furniture's Distribution Center/Warehouse in Bolingbrook IL will be holding a Job Fair Tuesday 9/23/14 and Wednesday 9/24/14 from 9am-2pm.  Applicants that are interested in applying and attending please submit your resume. We look forward to seeing you there!

Prep Lead Summary

Supervise activates engaged in prepping of products.  Implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities.  Ensure dress code and professionalism is maintained at its highest levels at all times.  Report and inspect physical conditions of maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary.  Audit and inspect product in prep lanes … looking for any errors or quality problems.  Coach and mentor staff in best practices of prepping product.  Participate in on the job training with staff.  Responsible for Continuous Improvement.  Utilize the concepts of Lean, Theory of Constraints, and Statistical Process Control for improvement in warehousing functions. Work with area departmental managers to identify areas of HomeStore system improvement.

Prep & Assembly Summary

Comply with day to day standards of prepping of products. Assemble furniture and prepare for customer pick up.  Comply with warehouse safety and security programs and activities.  Comply with safety in all areas of warehouse by ensuring warehouse is neat and secure, and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented.  Participate in employee performance evaluations on a quarterly basis.  Inspect and tag product in prep lanes looking for any errors or quality problems.  Participate in morning meetings to review measurements, communicate work schedules, review successes, and to share suggestions and new best practices.  Responsible for Continuous Improvement. Contribute in improvement effort within quality/performance measures as well as targeted levels.

Recycling Summary

Comply with education best practices for recycling of waste from product.  Participate in daily meetings to review measurements, daily expectations, communicate work schedules, review successes, and to share suggestions and new best practices. Comply with warehouse safety and security programs and activities. Ensure housekeeping and sanitation levels on a daily basis. Comply with safety in all areas of warehouse by ensuring warehouse is neat and secure, and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented.  Participate in employee performance evaluations on a quarterly basis. Responsible for Continuous Improvement. Contribute in improvement efforts for Quality/Performance Measures as well as targeted levels.

Customer Pick Up/Lift Operator/Receiving Summary 

Participate in activities engaged in receiving, stocking, prepping and inventory of products.  Works on the system improving inventory processes with respect to productivity and quality (picking, put-away, receiving, MTO’s, Customer Pick up.  Comply with warehouse safety and security programs and activities.  Comply with housekeeping, security, and sanitation levels on a daily basis. Receive, stage, and pick product in and out of inventory. Condense, sort, straighten inventory. Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments. Participate in employee performance evaluations on a quarterly basis. Inventory Integrity – Receiving, Picking, Cycle Counting, put away. Comply with standard operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products.  Audit and inspect product locations after receiving or picking product to/from inventory looking for any errors or quality problems. Responsible for customer pick up. Locate, pick, and inspect product for customer, assist in loading product into vehicle.  Ensure proper conduct and presentation while working with customers.

Shop Tech Summary

Comply with standard operating procedures (SOP’s) with regard to repair of products. Comply with warehouse safety and security programs and activities.  Participate in employee performance evaluations on a quarterly basis. Report and inspect physical conditions of maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary.
