- Demand Planner/Scheduler Giovanni Rana started his company in Verona, Italy 50 years ago. Today, Pastificio Rana is the #1 fresh pasta maker in Italy. In early 2012, Rana broke ground on its' first production facility in the United States. Located in Bartlett, IL we are rapidly growing and currently seeking a Demand Planner/Scheduler to join our team. To learn more about our company, go to www.giovannirana.com. Position Description: Reports to Plant Manager. Works closely with Supply Chain Manager. Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of demand planning function. Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results. Coordinate cross functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions. Interact with sales and marketing to understand the demand forecast drivers. Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach, working with sales and marketing to ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts. Provide input to the supply planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs. Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning. Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning. Develop, publish, and modify weekly production schedule. Work cross functionally to proactively manage aging inventory, slow moving items and discontinued items. Qualifications: Education/Training: Four-year college degree in business, statistics, mathematics, supply chain management or similar required. Prior experience in the food industry preferred. Minimum three years demand planning and forecasting experience. Must have experience using an ERP system, preferably JD Edwards. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting models with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts. Category specific expertise to interpret market and trend information. (preferred) Must have excellent communication skills & the ability to develop relationships with people at all levels within the organization.
