What You Will Do

Acts as a liaison between English and non-English speaking and/or hearing guests, staff and patients by providing interpreter services.
Responsibilities:
- Listens to, comprehends and translates oral or written communications from English to another language and vice versa.
- Translates basic to intermediate communication.
- Complies with all privacy and confidentiality policies when communicating patient information.
- Develops translated forms and educational materials for non-English speaking and/or hearing populations.
- Assists in the orientation and onboarding of new members of the network language services team.
What You Will Need
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
- Preferred Credential(s):
- Certification specializing in Deaf Interpretation.
- Interpreter.
- Medical/Healthcare Interpreting Certificate
Education:
- Diploma
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required
- HS or Equivalent
- High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree preferred
Work Experience:
- None required.
- One year of experience as a medical interpreter required, preferably in an acute health care setting.
