Sales Manager

As a member of the senior management team, this is a highly visible position reporting directly to the President. The company is a manufacturer of precision sheet metal parts, stamped components, and assemblies, to large and small customers in the Telecommunication, Agricultural, Construction, Power Generation, Medical, and Industrial Markets. Company is located in a 70,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility with 60 non-union employees. The Sales Manager will manage and motivate all elements of the sales organization in support of the business' established objectives. Must have ability to influence and articulate the growth objectives of the company with a strong vision for strategic engagement of the marketplace. Industry knowledge and market research capabilities will be key to success. As the primary business development person interacting with customers, the individual must be strongly aligned with company values of Safety, Respect, Collaboration, and Continuous Improvement.


The selected candidate will have a proven track record in a senior leadership sales role. In addition, the ability to apply creativity to marketing activities to develop new relationships is critical. Key Responsibilities:

1. Represents company as the expert in company processes and capabilities; develop and deliver sales marketing proposals and presentations to customers on technical products and services; close sales in a professional manner
2. Maintains and enhances existing customer base by making regular sales calls; increases exposure to new business opportunities by following up on leads and referrals
3. Develops and increases sales revenues to meet assigned targets
4. Gathers and reports market information from customer/rep base; develops and maintains long and short range sales and marketing plans
5. Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers. Checks on competitive activity
6. Troubleshoots problems regarding products provided; answers questions from reps and customers
7. Collaborates with Estimating and Customer Service to prepare timely and accurate quotes 
8. Collaborates with Customer Service, Quality, Engineering, and Production to foster strong relationships across the spectrum of customer interactions

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years progressive sales management experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in metal fabrication, stamping or similar
• A solid track record of success developing and leading sales organizations, including outside representatives
• Familiarity with the sales of low volume, high mix products 
• Direct involvement in the development of sales plans, pricing strategies, and hands-on involvement with maintaining and growing customer relationships 
• Experience with strategic planning and sustainable implementation
• The knowledge and confidence to interact with customers, large and small, and speak articulately about capabilities
• Ability to develop strong relationship with personnel at all levels of customer's business – shop to C-suite
• Strong customer relations 
• Minimum of a four-year Technical or Business bachelor's degree, or other relevant discipline
• Ability to develop and execute marketing plan appropriate to the industry and target accounts
