SUMMARY

The Regional Operations Director, Ascension Senior Living, will report to the COO, Ascension Senior Living and is responsible for overall performance of the senior services operations in all assigned communities. Senior Services within the area of responsibility include: long term care and skilled nursing facilities, assisted living and independent living facilities and associated ancillary programs affiliated with these facilities. The Regional Operations Director is responsible for strategy, budgeting, clinical performance, financial performance, compliance, appropriate staffing and contributing to and utilizing shared services that create value for the region as well as the Senior Services organization. This individual represents the organization and Ascension to others within local community and the geographical area in addition to working closely with local Health Ministries of Ascension Health to fulfill efforts to build and operate a collaborative continuum of care in the communities being served.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains the Executive Director responsibility at one community in the assigned region (refer to Executive Director job description)
  • Constantly places the safety and quality of care and services provided to residents and patients at the forefront of all practices and guidance.
  • Directly supervises and guides the performance of the Executive Directors (ED's) in the assigned geographic region. Responsible for ensuring the appropriate professional development, continual licensure, recruiting, hiring and orientation of community leaders on an ongoing basis.
  • Supports the ED's to ensure smooth transition of individual community systems to Ascension Senior Living Systems as required and then ensures compliance with system utilization on an ongoing basis. Systems may include: IT systems, financial reporting systems, supply chain systems and programs, financial systems, human resources programs, quality management systems and others.
  • Supports assigned communities to maintain good-standing with State and Federal licensing authorities, in coordination with regional clinical leadership.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the assigned individual communities and in aggregate all assigned communities, based on objectives mutually agreed-upon with the COO. Ensures performance management reporting to the support center, and achieve needed action plans.
  • Represents the needs of assigned communities to the system staff to solicit and gain the support necessary to help their communities thrive.
  • Works in convert with fellow regional team members and the support center team to identify challenges, opportunities, approaches to resolution, and to make recommendations to the COO for appropriate actions that lead to the organization to improve.
  • Works closely with Regional Subsidiary Boards to ensure interests are identified and achievement in concert with System objectives.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree in associated discipline is preferred.
  • Must have worked at least five years in the nursing home/ skilled nursing community industry. Multi-community system experience is a plus.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
  • Professional Nursing Home Administrator license current in at least on state.

  • Must possess strong collaborative, interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to create a high-performance, effective team that can produce consistent, demonstrated results.
  • Must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good workign relationsgips with co-workers and ministry leadership.
  • The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and concisely on oral and written form.
  • Competencies needed for ths posiion include strong, interpersonal relations skills, detail-orientated, work in colloboaration with others, deminstrate high degree of integrity and personal commitment, possess strong analytical skills, be able to work independently and manage multiple deliverables at the same time.
  • Ability to function in a matrix environment and demonstrate a passion to suceeed, be self-motivated, dependable, committed and a willingness to see a project through to its conclusion.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
