***This position will support both Mercy Medical Center in Aurora and Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin***

Job Summary:

• Leads the operational, financial, and administrative activities of the outpatient, ambulatory care, and therapeutic services. Also provides operational support for key service lines and other hospital required patient support services. Directs the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies. Reports to the VP of Operations.

Responsibilities:

•Directs and manages outpatient, ambulatory care clinics, therapeutic services, wound care, inpatient and outpatient therapy and inpatient rehab unit.

•Collaborates with assigned System service lines and/or support service leaders to ensure optimal operational efficiencies are maintained along with ongoing cross functional communications

• Organizes operations to provide high quality, cost effective services. Models leadership and teaming excellence by providing appropriate advice and counsel to staff to improve effectiveness.

•Develops, implements, and manages patient care delivery systems and processes in the outpatient setting that facilitate throughput of patients in a safe, efficient, high quality and cost effective manner

•Develops strategic plans and business plans to support capital funding to ensure operations are efficient and effective and meet the needs of the hospital and ambulatory sites in each geographical market

•Develops, implements, and maintains a patient experience service plan throughout all areas of responsibility and monitors progress toward targets and provides feedback to all staff and providers

•Monitors service standards using metrics/dashboard and responds to patient complaints to resolve problems leading to complaints

•Monitors and controls operating budgets for areas of direct accountability in order to achieve budgeted growth and profitability objectives

• Coordinates and integrates services to meet contractual requirements. Conducts ongoing assessments, maintains quality control programs, and improves departmental operations.

•Builds and leads strong teams by identifying staffing and talent needs, attracting, retaining and developing talent, managing performance, and fostering high levels of associate engagement

• Directs staff. Manages departmental turnover while maintaining high employee and patient satisfaction.

•Collaborates with and receives direction from ministry VP Operations and System service lines related to the performance of all areas being supported

•Leads projects, chairs and/or participates in hospital committees and meetings as assigned by the VP Operations

•Interprets and ensures compliance with standards of accrediting and licensing bodies in areas of responsibility

• Develops and implements policies and procedures that support the delivery of services to meet all productivity plans.

• Identifies marketing and collaborative opportunities for the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing. State of Illinois RN License

required, if BSN.



Education:

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree

required. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

• 5 years of experience required. • 10 years of experience preferred. • 2 years of leadership or management experience required. • 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
