What You Will Do

As an Associate with AMITA Health, you will have the opportunity to

Provide behavioral health counseling and consultation services to the AMITA Health system and community-at-large with a focus on autism spectrum and developmental disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts patient assessments and establishes collaborative therapy treatment goals with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Administers short-term individual, family, and group therapy with focus on autism-related concerns such as executive functioning and social skills deficits.
  • Maintains thorough and confidential records of interactions and observations.
  • Evaluates progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions through use of identified evidence-based outcome measures.
  • Provides families and patients with information via telephone or walk-in regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community to ensure connection to community and ongoing care needs.
  • Works directly with the patient, family, physician and community providers to ensure active and collaborate care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge and during crisis.
  • Provides community and health system consultation as needed for screening for autism and related disorders as well as behavior planning and programming adaptations.
  • Participates in community outreach events to identify and promote resources for individuals with autism spectrum and developmental disorders.
  • Facilitates educational trainings for health system associates, other professionals, and community members on care considerations when working with individuals with autism spectrum and developmental disorders.

What You Will Need

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science, or Psychology required
  • Masters in Psychology or related field highly desired.

Work Experience:
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum or Developmental Disorders
  • LCPC/LCSW highly preferred.
