IT Support Specialist

IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Currently we have an opportunity for an IT Support Specialist in our information technology organization. This position is responsible for IT help-desk technical & operational tasks as they relate to procurement, configuration, deployment, support, issues resolution and training for hardware and software. This could include but not limited to desktop computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, printers/copiers.

This position will report to the Manager, IT Operations and Security with responsibilities as follows:
• Provide first and second tier technical support and assistance to all Cummins Allison employees at multiple locations.
• Support hardware, and software system problems as they relate to Office 365 applications, end user computers and software, user account management.
• Also support Windows operating systems, and basic network related issues.
• Manage assigned requests in the helpdesk portal in a timely manner.
• Research and procure PC equipment and related peripherals.
• Assist with operational transition of new solutions from project status to support.
• Create procedures and guidelines when required.
• Train other technical support staff on solving common systems related problems.
• Leverage optimization techniques and suggest counter-measures for recurring problems as they relate to technical help desk issues.
 
Requirements:
-Bachelors or Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field
-5+ years of handling IT Helpdesk technical issues
-2+ years of Office 365 end user support
-Ability to select right equipment per user needs
-Ability to troubleshoot issues as they relate to hardware/operating systems, software and network and mobile devices.
-Process new hires and exiting employees
o Active Directory\Office 365 user account management
o VoIP phone setup and user account setup
 
Demonstrated experience with the following:
 
1. MS Office 365
–Front end and back-end
-Familiarity with O365 licensing features (F1, E1, E3 Licenses)
-Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, Office components, installation and configuration as well as Office online.
 
2. Systems
-Microsoft Windows Workstations, Server (2003 – 2016 )
• Computer imaging
• Automating software installation/uninstalls
• Microsoft command shell (PowerShell Scripting, a plus )
• Microsoft Active Directory membership and role based permissions
• Web Browser plugins, security/AV and compatibility settings. (IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc.)
-Epicor’s Manage 2000 ERP, a plus
-Linux, a plus

3. Databases
-MS SQL database roles and permissions.
-ODBC connection setup and configuration.

4. VPN
-Client software configuration and troubleshooting (Palo Alto)
Soft Skills desired:
-Good attitude and willingness to put in additional time as required.
-Ability to manage own time and determine timing requirements for tasks or projects.
-Ability to work independently as well as work as a proactive team player.
-Good communication skills, oral, written.
