SUMMARY

The Supervisor, Nursing/Wound Care implements policies and procedures, maintains and improves the level of patient care and standards of care on specific individual unit(s), and assures compliance with established standards and practices and regulatory requirements by all nursing personnel. The supervisor serves as liaison between administration and nursing personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develops and maintains effective relationships and promotes communications with Residents, visitors, coworkers, physicians and other internal departments.

2. Maintains confidentiality and privileged communications.

3. Evaluates overall unit performance through direct observation, chart reviews and the quality management process. Implements changes as needed. Holds staff to standards of nursing practice.

4. Serves as a clinical resource person. Participates in actual patient care when situations require it.

5 Plans and maintains staffing levels for specific Resident care area(s)

6. Monitors and evaluates performance of employees, consulting with appropriate resources when disciplinary process is initiated.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Licensed RN in the State of Illinois, in good standing

Minimum one year of experience in Nursing/Skilled Nursing as LPN or RN, required. Minimum one year of experience as Supervisor, Lead or Charge Nurse required.

Current CPR card, required

BSN, preferred
