Description: Job Summary:
The Unversity of Health Sciences System is seeking an IT Technical Associate (Healthcare Data Warehouse Analyst). Under general direction, designs, develops, and implements BI services including reports, dashboards, and data marts.  Serves as a subject matter expert on the healthcare data warehouse and demonstrates a solid understanding of healthcare data models.  Supports all aspects of the healthcare data warehouse business intelligence and analytics program.
 
Duties: Key Responsibilities / Duties:
  • Serve as the data warehouse analyst for the Epic Cogito business intelligence suiteMonitors system and ETL logs daily and manually addresses system operational or data loading problems
  • Responsible for validating and maintaining system functionality and performance during routine upgrades and quarterly patch updates
  • Responsible for validating and maintaining system functionality and performance during routing upgrades and quarterly patch updates
  • Responsible for data validation and identifying data gaps between source systems and the warehouse
  • Assist in the maintenance of data integrity, security, and privacy and minimizing data anomalies
  • Develops, maintains, and validates reports, scorecards, and dashboards in Business Objects and BI tools
  • Assists in the creation of documentation that defines data standards, requirement specifications, and business processes.
  • Assist in the development, customization, and maintenance of a training program for the warehouse, data models, and BI applications and participate in ongoing training of clinical end users.
  • Assist in the creation and support of a decentralized end user group by providing support, extensive interaction, and assistance in problem resolution.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
 
Qualifications: Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Required
  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, related information management field or a clinical area of study (i.e. RN). 
  2. A minimum of 2 years experience in Healthcare Information Systems or Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of tools in data warehouse applications possibly including the Epic Cogito business intelligence suite or Business Objects. 
  • Knowledge of system management principles, warehouse development and testing strategies. 
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to mulit-task and balance work demands.
