Senior Manager Core Performance Engineering - Madison-WI, Knoxville-TN or Schaumburg-IL - ENG001149

This leadership role is responsible for overall capacity, performance, and facility engineering of our IMS, WAN, and EPC core networks, and includes Carrier Hotels, Regional Connectivity Centers (RCC), Local Connectivity Centers (LCC), Data Center networks, and services such as data and VOLTE. The position is responsible for leadership of the team, as well as planning, forecasting, budgeting, network performance and capacity management of the core network. This role understands architectural principles and high level design of telecom network platforms.

• Lead the team responsible for capacity (HW, SW, license/subscription) planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting of the Core, IMS, and WAN network, including various services such as VOLTE and Data.

• Responsible for the overall core performance testing/tuning, design/framework, modelling, and deployment inspections. This will include collaborating with the RAN performance, Core Operations and Service Assurance teams to optimize and improve the overall performance of our network and services such as Volte and Data.

• Lead the team responsible for the testing and integration of the First Office Application of new network elements in our core, IMS, and WAN network.

• Lead the team responsible for overall planning and facility engineering of our wireless data centers, Regional Connectivity Centers, and Local Connectivity Centers Assist in building relationships with cross functional teams, career development, planning, and mentoring of all associates as well as supporting the growth of technical expertise and training across the organization.

• Develop weekly and monthly capacity forecast, core performance and project status reports, and team deliverables presenting technical material to upper management on operational improvements, project schedules, and engineering standards.

• Develop and manage a Capital and Operation Expenses budgets for department with the capability to breakdown complex issues into manageable task while working with the planning and project management teams.

• Bachelors degree and 8+ years of relevant work or military experience in telecommunications industry

• Minimum 5 years leadership experience

• 25% travel required

• Excellent problem solving / analytical skills and knowledge of wireless end-to-end service and analytical tools.

• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

• Services knowledge such as: VoLTE, SMS, LTE, Roaming, Smart Watches, Fixed Wireless

• Service Infrastructure knowledge such as: Mobility Management Entity (MME), eNBs, Home Subscriber Service (HSS), Gateways (PGW, SGW, MGW)IMS Core, EPC Core

• Network Protocol knowledge such as: Diameter, TCP/IP, and SIP (H.323), H.248 (MEGCO), IS-41 (WIN Triggers), SNMP, SMTP, DNS, SS7 Signaling
