Leads a team that supports leadership development activities including; curriculum implementation, skills assessment, manager development, training delivery, and consultation that are linked to key business strategic initiatives. Responsible for assessing, designing and delivering the curricula that establishes the standard for leadership excellence. Lead and execute a wide range of leadership development solutions and learning programs that position our culture as an enabler of performance.
  • Design, deliver, and manage key leader development strategy and programs at U.S. Cellular®; internally through coordination of in-house assets or managed partnerships with outside vendors.
  • Ensure leadership development curriculum embodies the principles of a Dynamic Organization.
  • Leads a team of LD associates towards collaborative goals; including performance management, one-on-one coaching and development.
  • Stay abreast of leading edge organization, leadership, and learning theories, applications, and tools.
  • Engage and consult with leadership teams and HR Business Partners regularly to gain understanding of functional and company objectives, key initiatives, and organizational challenges. Acquires and maintains a deep understanding of current and future organizational needs.
  • Contribute to the planning, design, and executing of communication plans to build awareness of the curriculum and learning opportunities. Develop change management deliverables (e.g., Communications Plan, etc.), when assigned
  • Responsible for metrics and evaluation of learning solutions to demonstrate and improve effectiveness
  • Manage the deployment of leadership training programs
  • Ensure sound instructional design principles and technologies are applied in developing learning solutions
  • Provide input into department systems, processes and policies
  • Fulfill other training, project management, and administrative tasks as needed


  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree or advanced studies in leadership development, instructional design, or related field preferred
  • At least 5 years progressive experience in successfully leading a high performing team.
  • 5-7 years of experience in training, development, learning systems required; experience in learning design or delivery capacity preferred
  • Experience in organization and leadership development roles preferred.
  • Exceptional written, oral, facilitation, presentation and platform communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, assessment, problem solving, decision-making and project management skills.
  • Experience in learning and development with ability to create custom tailored programs.
  • Ability to travel as required. Position may require up to 50% or more travel.
