Manager, Infrastructure and Automation Services

Manager, Infrastructure and Automation Services - INF001161

The Manager, Infrastructure and Automation Services is responsible for driving automation across the Infrastructure teams by defining, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure automation tools and processes. This role will leverage best practices in Agile & DevOps development techniques to drive platform/system development to enable automation. Responsible for developing a high performance infrastructure automation team capable of building a very scalable and highly automated environment, working together with the development and operations teams, to improve stability and reliability of systems.

Responsibilities
  • Define and execute an infrastructure automation strategy & road-map for various technologies and platforms. Survey, analyze, and maintain documentation of major activities that focus on areas which are high cost and/or labor-intensive, focusing on prioritizing those with the greatest impact to the business.
  • Lead a team of engineers to define and implement automation (DevOps, Agile) enablement for environment delivery and standard patterns for re-use and consistency to drive platform/system development to enable automation.
  • Build a community of collaboration, best practice sharing, and governance.
  • Identifies and implements industry best practices. Research current and future industry technology.
  • Proactively promote consistent performance measurement and skill development, actively participate in HR performance measurement processes, provide input to staffing plans and set priorities for your team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with multiple levels of the organization when outlining strategy and progress towards goals.


Experience and Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or related technical certifications preferred
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of the business and industry preferred
  • Background in VMware virtualization, Unix/Linux/Windows domains, and automation technologies is preferred. Experience with Jira, GetHub, Vrealize, Puppet and/or AWS is preferred.
  • Understanding of IT Operations Management, such as process improvement, operating models and IT Service Management.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture and/or infrastructure architecture best practices, frameworks, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and teach associates in an ongoing effort to improve the performance of the team.
  • Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams; ability to lead meetings and develop consensus for solutions.
