Sr Infrastructure Automation Engineer - INF001164

The Sr. Infrastructure Automation Engineer is a subject matter expert for infrastructure and implementing advanced solutions to optimize processes with advanced technologies such as automation, software orchestration, software development, and coding self-optimizing, self-configuring, and self-testing functions. This role will maintain a high level of infrastructure domain knowledge (Platform, Virtualization, and Storage) and expertise in software development and coding. The role will leverage advanced knowledge in automation toolsets and techniques to implement appropriate automation processes to improve efficiencies over time.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, implement and support software driven solutions. Survey, analyze, and maintain documentation of major activities that focus on areas which are high cost and/or labor-intensive, focusing on prioritizing those with the greatest impact to the business.
• Utilize Agile and DevOps development techniques to drive platform/system development to enable automation.
• Leverage subject matter expertise to identify and implement solutions that will improve reliability, decrease workload and improve agility.
• Create and provide training on new/modified processes. Provide ongoing support for implemented automations processes.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables, both short and long-term, in a busy and aggressive environment, while staying flexible to dynamic needs and priority levels. Self-motivated and willing and able to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with multiple levels of the organization when outlining strategy and progress towards goals.

Experience and Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or related technical certifications preferred
• Minimum 5 years relevant work experience preferred
• Strong knowledge, understanding and skills utilizing automation technologies including and not limited to the following:
  • Programming languages including Python / Perl / 'R' / Java / shell scripting / SQL / HiveQL.
  • Software Development Platforms including Docker / Kubernetes / Hadoop / OpenstackStrong.
  • Systems and Databases including Linux / Unix / Postgres / Oracle / Hadoop / Virtualization Technologies (KVM, VMware, Vrealize, etc,)
  • DevOps and Agile practices and CI tools such as Jira, GetHub, Jenkins, Puppet, AWS preferred
• Strong understanding of the business and industry preferred
• Understanding of IT Operations Management, such as process improvement, operating models and IT Service Management.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture and/or infrastructure architecture best practices, frameworks, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and teach associates in an ongoing effort to improve the performance of the team.
• Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams; ability to lead meetings and develop consensus for solutions.
