Qualified Mental Health Professional

We currently have an opportunity available for a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) located at our Behavioral Health and Clinical Services division office. Under the supervision of the Children's Mental Health Supervisor, this position provides clinical assessment, crisis intervention services, treatment planning, and direct clinical intervention to children and their families experiencing acute and chronic emotional/behavioral disorders. The QMHP will provide these services in a variety of settings - primarily within the home or community.
Duties may include but not limited to:
  • Provides pre-admission psychiatric hospital screening, crisis intervention, facilitates hospitalization, monitors psychiatrically hospitalized children, and provides discharge, linkage, and aftercare recommendations.
  • Oversees and direct service implementation included in the treatment plan, therapy services, counseling rehabilitative services, case management, linkage, service crisis intervention and progress assessment.
  • Provides clinical supervision of mental health services provided by Mental Health Professionals.
  • Participates at an advanced level with colleagues, agency consultants, intra and inter-agency service coordination, and community-planning and advocacy on behalf of clients.
  • Performs other related duties as directed
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:This position requires a minimum of a master's degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, family therapy, or a related field.
Experience/Requirements:In addition, the individual must have successfully completed a practicum and or internship with a minimum of 1,000 hours or at least one year of clinical experience in a mental health setting. The position requires the use of a personal auto, valid driver's license, and Motor Vehicle report acceptable to the agency's broker and verification of insurance coverage. Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
