Senior Security Network Engineer

Contributes to the operation of the company's internal data communications systems. Establishes and maintains network performance utilizing technical experience to analyze and troubleshoot network problems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares review analysis, capacity planning and recommendations of the existing network infrastructure and related security processes.
  • Contributes in escalation services for network related mission critical systems on a rotational basis.
  • Maintains network infrastructure hardware including ongoing software/firmware patches and upgrades.
  • Conducts network architecture design, viability and cost studies.
  • Analyzes and maintains network health monitoring and notification tools.
  • Provides review analysis, capacity planning and enhancement recommendations of the existing network infrastructure and related security processes.
  • May lead project implementation

Qualifications

  • Preferred Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience 
    • CCNP/CCIE Routing and Switching, Security or equivalent experience
  • Preferred Work Experience (years):
    • Minimum of 8+ years of experience
  • Key Skills and Competencies:
    • Cisco Wireless
    • Cisco Nexus 7K and 2K, NX-OS, IOS
    • Cisco and Palo Alto Firewall deployment and administration
    • Cisco FirePower application and identitiy based firewall policy building
    • Complex firewall rule 
    • Cisco Call Manager 8.6+
    • QoS for WAN (MPLS/DMVPN) Networks
    • Routing protocols EIGRP, BGP, OSPF
    • BGP in single and multihomed environments
    • DMVPN Phase 3 deployment and troubleshooting
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Experience with end user issues
    • Demonstrated technical experience
    • Demonstrated experience working independently and collaboratively on projects
    • Demonstrated experience trouble shooting
    • Broad knowledge of applicable IT systems/applications
    • Experience developing new systems and tools
    • Experience in documenting and maintaining up to date systems procedures
    • Advanced analytical skills
    • Demonstrated Project Management skills
    • Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high growth, rapidly changing environment
    • Experience identifying and implement process improvements
