What You Will Do
Job Summary:
Provides direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
Responsibilities:
- Assesses, prepares and positions patients for procedures. Performs conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring as necessary.
- Prepares, implements and documents plan of care. Communicates patient's condition to physician before, during and after procedures.
- Performs and/or facilitates diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures.
- Performs set up and provides equipment and supplies before, during and after procedures.
Qualifications
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
- Required Credential(s):
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Preferred Credential(s):
- Certified Cardiographic Tech specializing in Invasive Vascular Cardiology credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Education:
- Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- For the Hinsdale and La Grange locations, must have BSN within three years of hire date
Work Experience:
- Two to four years of relevant clinical nurse experience in Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology and Cardiac Cath preferred.
