What You Will Do

Job Summary:

Performs diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation.

Responsibilities:
  • Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
  • Performs routine and complex studies and assists physician in a variety of imaging procedures.
  • Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.

Qualifications


Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
  • Required Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Registry Eligible Medical Sonography Tech credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Registry or registry eligible required.

Education:
  • Associate Degree
    • Graduate of a 2-year allied health program required

Work Experience:
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • RVT a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a hospital setting
  • Must be able to work independently and perform all general sonography exams.
  • Every other Weds, 3p to 11p; Every other Thursday, 11p to 7a; Every other Friday, 11p to 7a; Every other Saturday 11p to 7a; Every other Sunday 11p to 7a
