Job Description

Job Summary:

Collects and prepares tissue specimens for complex and specialized tests to confirm a patient diagnosis.

Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the evaluation of new techniques and procedures in the laboratory.
  • Evaluates and solves problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens for analysis.
  • Provides instruction in theory, technical skills, safety protocols, and application of laboratory test procedures. Performs continuing education for laboratory personnel and maintains technical competence.
  • Acts as an administrative and technical resource for laboratory testing.

Qualifications


Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • Certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC).

Education:
  • HS or Equivalent
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Work Experience:
  • Two or more years of experience in the laboratory preferred.
