SUMMARY

The Revenue Cycle Financial System Analyst produces weekly and monthly financial reports for all Presence Health hospitals. Develops programming changes to improve processes for internal financial reporting and analysis tools. Provides recommendations based on the financial reports to appropriate individuals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Compiles and performs analysis on standardized weekly and monthly financial, quality, and productivity reporting for all Presence Health hospitals. Summarizes and includes findings from their analysis in reports distributed to the leadership team for use in decision-making regarding improving processes, hard-targeting payors, etc. Responsible for balancing information to the host system (Meditech, EPIC, or STAR) source data.

  • Develops automated process improvement tools using MS Access, MS Visual Basic, or other programming tools in order to facilitate improvement initiatives related to financial reporting. Creates instructions to allow other team members to use the automated processes.

  • Identifies sources for getting information from the system and writes the extract logic. Tests the extracts to ensure the data is correct, makes necessary corrections, and implements into an automated process.

  • Provides recommendations and/or support documentation for Senior Financial System Analysts' review prior to distribution to PFS leadership for operational improvements that will provide cost savings or increase revenue via data analysis and reporting.

  • Maintains financial reporting systems and tools by updating data sources for new requirements, changes in scope of the report, and input query criteria changes.

    Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Information Systems or Healthcare Management plus two years of directly related experience in financial reporting or extensive IS experience using SQL, Microsoft Access or other reporting software; or High School diploma or GED plus six years of experience required.

    Computer Skills

    Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Access required.

    Experience with Meditech and EPIC patient accounting systems, Healthcare Financial Reporting, SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Visual Basic programming, and Crystal Reports, as well as extensive experience with data extract methodologies from multiple platforms preferred.
