The Maintenance Mechanic performs general repairs and maintenance to building, grounds and mechanical systems as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs general electrical repairs, basic plumbing repairs, general building maintenance, cleaning coils, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, grease traps, and other equipment as instructed and trained.

Documents repairs, maintenance and other services as required and reports data to supervisor.

Monitors and maintains mechanical equipment through cleaning, lubrication, filter changes and other tasks as required.

Checks and records temperatures of all facility buildings daily.

Performs or arranges general cleaning and maintenance of vehicle fleet as assigned.

Inspects facilities for cleanliness, safety and general state of repair on a regular basis.

Requisitions supplies as needed and picks up needed materials as approved.

Responds to work orders from Presence Health (PH) sites in a timely and thorough manner; answers to emergencies within the PH network following appropriate procedures/protocols.

Removes snow and ice on parking lots and driveways.

Tests safety systems such as fire alarms, strobes and extinguishers according to established schedule.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required. One year of experience in general building, repair services, home improvement, janitorial related activities or closely related field required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid Illinois Driver's License required.
