SUMMARY

The Maintenance Assistant assists with the preventative and general maintenance of the facility, including the building, equipment and the grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains and repairs equipment and building systems, electrical, plumbing, painting etc. Performs routine building maintenance in a safe manner.

Performs grounds keeping work, including mowing and watering lawns, pruning trees, trimming hedges, plowing snow, cleaning flower beds and picking up outside trash.

Troubleshoots facility malfunctions and failures and helps to make necessary repairs. Performs the preventative maintenance service for equipment on a regular basis and retains service records.

Assists in room moves and moving furniture. Assists housekeeping with cleaning floors.

Accepts responsibility in the absence of the Director of Maintenance.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous maintenance experience preferred.
