About Northern Illinois Food Bank

Northern Illinois Food Bank’s mission is to lead the northern Illinois community in solving hunger by providing nutritious meals to those in need through innovative programs and partnerships.  Working collaboratively with a community of donors, volunteers and feeding programs, the food bank provides food across 13 northern Illinois counties each week. Responsibilities

  • Assisting with Administrative Tasks- preparation of presentations, reporting and analysis, managing, monitoring, validation of invoices.
  • Provides administrative support to Procurement, Sourcing, Logistics and Warehouse groups
  • Provides clerical support associated with preparing and reporting supply Chain documents (purchase orders, invoices, donation orders,) reports, key business indicators, and correspondence regarding product recalls.
  • Performs clerical duties associated with processing of specific Supply Chain related data.
  • Performs clerical duties associated with procurement, meal connect in addition to supporting demand planning lead.
  • Participates, as directed, in supply chain related audits.
  • Create and manage food sourcing dashboard based on performance targets.
  • Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, according to the needs of the operations team.

Qualifications

  • Self-starter, assertive, good communication skills and telephone manner
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations in a calm and efficient manner
  • Must be able to adopt a very “hand on” approach
  • Ability to combine commercial needs of business with its ethical mission
  • Ability to use initiative and work pro-actively on different tasks


Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in clerical function supporting operations
  • Ability to analyze information and to work with several tasks simultaneously
  • Accuracy of data entry
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Preferred Knowledge/ Background supporting ERP systems
  • Bachelors from an Accredited University
