Senior Teacher Training Specialist

Since Brookfield Zoo opened its doors to the public in 1934, the Chicago Zoological Society has had a legacy of educating the public about environmental conservation. Brookfield Zoo has developed many tools to assist educators in sharing information about animals, science, and caring - the things that form the basis of conservation at the zoo and in the wild. We encourage educators to use the information gathered by the zoo to share concepts about data gathering and scientific research, and to use the zoo's charismatic animals to help inspire excitement for learning. The Conservation, Education and Training (CET) staff at Brookfield Zoo works closely with groups and teachers to integrate School and Groups Programs in accordance with its Strategic Plan.

The Senior Teacher Training Specialist contributes to the success of the Chicago Zoological Society and the institutional pillars of Creating Innovations and Excellence in Conservation Leadership and Animal Welfare and Ensuring a Sustainable Future by developing and revising programs, curricula and classes for graduate and non-graduate level teacher classes and for the International Society for Technology in Education ("ISTE") classes and events; completing paperwork for classes and events; and marketing the Teacher and ISTE programs. Ensure the Chicago Zoological Society's learning strategy is incorporated into all teacher programs.
