Statistical Process Control Analyst

As SPC Analyst for our West Chicago, IL facility, you will be responsible for supporting quality and production systems through the use of data collection, reporting, and statistical analysis to identify quality trends, areas of opportunity, and areas of success throughout the production process.

MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and maintain statistical data methods used to record and analyze product quality and production levels and interpret and report trends.
  • Use statistical data to identify and resolve production process and quality issues and to reduce product quality variances.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely data entry to all data collection systems, i.e., MES, CAT2, OSI Advantage either directly or through other users. Provde data entry and reporting training to other system users.
  • Present, to facility management, weekly product quality performance against established standards, expectations and historical performance using graphs and charts.
  • Apply a variety of systemic quality and efficiency methods, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, to drive improvements in product quality.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other local departments and corporate support functions in order to successfully implement and administer areas of responsibility.
  • Participate as a member of quality improvement teams involving both external consultants and internal staff on a variety of studies and profiles, including thermal process validations, by providing statistical data and analysis relative to the project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Bachelor's in Mathematics, Statistics or related area of study preferred
  • 2 or more years of quality control/production control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience applying statistical analysis to identify manufacturing process issues
  • Working knowledge of standard computer programs (i.e., word processing and spreadsheets)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization
  • Experience working with quality improvement and efficiency methods such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or similar strategies.
