Collaborates with other members of the health care team to resolve patient care problems, enhance care delivery, and conduct process improvement.

Assists in the preparation for surgical case assuring that supplies, equipment, and instruments are available and in working order prior to the start of each case.

Performs scrub duties in the operation room.

Aids the surgical team in the transport, transfer, and positioning of patients in the operating room.

Supports maintenance, care, cleaning, packaging, sterilization, and inventory of instruments, equipment, and supplies as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma, High School equivalent, or technical school required. Certificate from Liaison Council of Surgical Technologists required.

Five or more years of previous surgical experience in specialty areas required.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certification from Liaison Council required. State of IL Surgical Technologist license preferred.
