Position Summary

The Feeder Catcher performs job duties within the Finishing Department. They are responsible for supporting the finishing department with quality of the folding operation to meet customer specifications and production schedule. Responsible for placing paper board cartons into feeding machines. Picking up paper board material and cartons from the end line, and placing cartons into boxes. This is a full-time role.

Responsibilities

• Review and follow directions on job jacket per job run.

• Supply feed section of equipment with carton blanks enabling gluer to maintain a continuous run.

• Visually inspect cartons before packing into corrugated cases.

• Report any quality issues or equipment defects to the line operator.

• Perform quality checks as required.

• Review palletizing specifications from job jackets and follow directions.

• Apply labels to cases.

• Ensure accurate quantities are packed.

• Obtain corrugated supplies form the staging areas.

• Communicate required information to co-workers and manager.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.

• Follow safety rules and regulations.

• Follow department and company policies and procedures.

• Report all food safety and quality problems to the Operator, Department Lead, Manager or Quality Team.

• May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a high speed packaging environment with quality inspection responsibilities.

• Good counting skills.

• Must be able to read and review all paper instructions and labeling requirements.

• Overall there are several physical demands required with this role including, but not limited to: vision, judging distances and heights, and working at certain heights. More details about these physical demands will be provided by Skills for Chicagoland's Future at time of interview.

Location

555 North Tripp Avenue - close to North and Chicago Avenues on Chicago's west side. Public transportation is available in the area.
