Job Description: Mortgage Banking Loan Closer

As a Mortgage Loan Closer, you will prepare closing documents for first and second mortgages ensuring quality, accuracy of closing fees and proper closing conditions. You will perform loan data entry and send closing packages in adequate timeframes to ensure excellent customer service.

Responsibilities also include:

• Ensuring funding procedures are followed and verification of loan closing with Settlement Agents/Attorneys by reviewing the HUD-1 Settlement Statement.
• You will work with title companies to ensure adherence to Chase mortgage policies and procedures, and handle post-closing problems.
• Other duties include maintaining a closing pipeline by completing closing documents a minimum of 3 business days in advance of the closing, adhering to the wire cut-off times, clearing branch deficiencies and timely delivery of complete closed loan files to Shipping.
• You will also be responsible for stacking documents, as well as copying and shipping files within the established time frame.
• You will maintain copy files of shipped loans and assist in resolution of post closing exceptions.
• The Closer acts as the final contact with the Settlement Agent/Attorney to ensure a positive customer experience.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years mortgage document experience or equivalent in preparing mortgage loan closing documents.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to perform basic computer functions.
• Good organization skills and be detail oriented.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to perform well under pressure.
