Overview

The Microsoft Architect of Microsoft Skype for Business / Unified Communications will join a tenured technical team who focus all of their mindshare in this market changing application. This position is a remote based role with 50% travel in region. Daily activity is inclusive of consulting, designing, implementation and Managed Services of Skype for Business and the technologies that interface: Contact Centers, IVR, Custom Dev Apps, Active Directory, Exchange, Server and Office 365. A successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate deep technical skills, proficiency with the design, implementation and support of Microsoft Skype for Business.

Responsibilities

 

 

  • Act as a trusted adviser to customers based on intimate technical knowledge of the customer environment.
  • Leads problem resolution, identifies appropriate resources, and pro-actively develops contingency plans.
  • Self-disciplined to implement, drive, and track projects on your own.
  • Attend training to learn and keep up to date on new technology.
  • Design, architect and implement Microsoft Skype for Business. Deployment scenarios including IM and Presence, Conferencing and Hybrid and Enterprise Voice.

 


Qualifications

 

 

 

 

  • A Bachelor degree from an accredited institution or a minimum of 8+ years experience working in a technical role.
  • Solid experience in architecting & consulting experience in the context of a services organization such as large system integrators
  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to effectively coordinate across various groups and functional teams both inside and outside of the business.
  • Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a technology leadership role for the team.
  • Travel, including consecutive overnight stays, is an integral expectation of this position as the needs of our customers and our business demand
  • 5-8 years of experience in Unified Communications
  • Experience designing and implementing OCS, Microsoft Lync 2013 and Skype for Business
  • Skype for Business installation and configuration both on premise and in the cloud.
  • Experience with the following: Enterprise voice, PSTN Calling and Conferencing, Persistent Chat Configuration and Deployment, Small Branch Appliance, Session Border Controller
  • Understanding of Telecom protocols i.e. PRI, T-1, Bonded T-1, Metro Area Networks, E911, E164 Dialing, ISDN,
  • QOS is a must have
  • Least Cost Routing
  • Dial Plans
  • Global and User based policies
  • Enterprise and Standard Deployments
  • Understand in load balancing
  • Networking knowledge
  • SQL clustering and it different methodologies
  • Integration with Exchange
  • Unified Messaging
  • Cisco Call manager or other SIP based integration
  • Lync 2010 and 2013 experience in the same modalities
