PATIENT CARE INFORMATICS TRAINING SPECIALIST

This position requires 90% travel to Presence Medical Group clinics

Under the supervision of the Director of Patient Centered Care, this position is responsible for developing and delivering direct training to employees and physicians utilizing the Presence Medical Group systems during the implementation projects and on an on-going basis in the production environment. This position also assists with research and development of training programs, needs assessment, and consultation for the purpose of providing effective EHR systems training services to staff at all levels of the organization. This position requires attending vendor training, achieving and maintaining Epic certification on designated EHR modules, participating in the build phase of the implementation project, and providing direct user training as assigned.
  • This position is accountable for development and delivery of any/all of the following:
  • Employee and physician training for all clinical/EHR system implementation projects (any modules, any sites);
  • Clinical/EHR systems training for new employees on an on-going basis post implementation;
  • Training programs covering clinical/EHR system version upgrades;
  • New training initiatives for clinical/EHR system optimization;
  • Training to support clinical/EHR system related process change; and

    Performance is measured against established customer service levels and satisfaction, overall support and by this position's ability to effectively deliver on meeting the clinical/EHR systems training needs of the organization.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides employee and physician education, training, and hands-on and day-to-day support (during project and on-going), as assigned by the Director of Patient Centered Care.
  • Assists with the development of training programs for all clinical/EHR system implementation, and for new hires and system changes.
  • Assists with the development, publication, and dissemination of training offerings for employees and physicians.
  • Assists with arranging facility logistics for training programs, including equipment needs.
  • Assists with the development and production of training materials.
  • Must be willing to travel to vendors training center to become and maintain current certifications.

    Other Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to downtime procedures.
  • Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.

  • Enhances professional growth and development by accessing educational programs, job related literature, in-service meetings, and workshops/seminars.

  • Maintains established department/hospital policies, procedures, directives, confidentiality agreements, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards appropriate to this position.
  • Coordinates other department-wide responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates professional leadership.
  • Position requires travel to other Presence Medical Group sites on a regular basis.

    Qualifications:

  • 3-5+years' of experience preferred.
  • Minimum three plus years' experience in the delivery of training programs in an industry environment (healthcare, business, banking, etc.) or in an equivalent training/classroom environment.
  • Experience in healthcare and clinical systems training preferred.
  • Experience with physicians and physician training preferred.
  • Revenue Cycle experience is highly preferred.
  • Bachelors' Degree in Adult Education, Communication, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a clinical area within healthcare required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong teaching skills that have been demonstrated on various projects, particularly related to healthcare.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office applications for the production and management of training materials, interoffice communication, and use and exchange of shared project and department documents.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Employee must achieve Epic certification on designated EHR modules within 90 days of attending vendor training. Employee must also maintain certification with every upgrade as defined to retain position.
