SUMMARY

The Echo Vascular Technologist II is a member of the Cardiopulmonary team who is specifically trained in performing and assisting with noninvasive cardiac testing, such as EKGs, Holter Monitoring, and Stress Testing. The Cardiovascular Technologist performs M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, and Color Flow echocardiograms as well as Transesophageal echocardiograms. He/she is involved in the processing of paperwork for these tests, and promotes the Touch of Mercy in all duties performed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for proficiently performing EKGs and all M-Mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow, Transesophageal studies and Stress echocardiography on both inpatients and outpatients. Hooks up and discontinues Holter Monitors; assists with Stress Testing; and performs other Department functions as required. Performs clerical responsibilities related to processing and filing.
• Performs all EKGs, Holters in a timely fashion with best possible quality tracing for inpatients and outpatients.
• Performs all M-Mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow, Transesophageal studies, and Stress Echo studies with associated measurement and analysis studies on inpatients and outpatients.
• Will provide diagnostic testing to pediatric patients, infants, and neonates in accordance with training

Education and/or Experience

Associate Degree preferred. Licensure as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Stenographer preferred. Certification from appropriate Cardiac Technology or Echocardiography program requiredHas been trained in Echocardiography and is able to perform M-Mode, 2-D Echos, Doppler Flow Studies, Electrocardiograms, and Holter monitor application. Cross training in related Cardipulmonary Diagnostics studies helpful
