SUMMARY

This Information Services position provides application support for assigned computer applications or designated user groups to meet information service's needs. May also be assigned to participate in accomplishing system implementation or upgrade projects and may be assigned to accomplish smaller projects themselves. Adheres to the standards, policies, procedures, protocols and objectives supplied by Presence Health. Is actively developing expertise in one or more applications or technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Certification in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation preferred, but not required. Individual must become certified in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation within first 90 days of employment.
  • Prior experience implementing and supporting inpatient clinical documentation software solutions in a multi-facility organization.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of assigned applications.
  • Works toward becoming an expert in business functions supported by the existing applications.
  • Analyzes data and/or tests application software, interface(s), data conversions and ad hoc report writing. Develops functional specifications, which may include, screen and report layouts and form designs.
  • Develops, authors, and documents operational procedures, position papers, and assessments.
  • Ensures Change Control processes and documentation are followed.
  • Able to develop reporting specifications.
  • Coordinate software patches and version upgrades with customer departments.
  • Monitor and resolve post-implementation support tickets, as assigned.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience


  • Three to five years' experience in an Information Services environment, with extensive knowledge of IS protocols and processes.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Science or equivalent experience in healthcare applications/systems support.
  • Prior experience implementing and supporting inpatient clinical documentation software solutions in a multi-facility organization
  • Certification in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation preferred, but not required. Individual must become certified in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation within first 90 days of employment.
  • Prior experience implementing and supporting inpatient clinical documentation software solutions in a multi-facility organization.
  • Experience in supporting IS applications with extensive knowledge of IS principles, protocols, and processes. Expert knowledge of one or more of the application systems used at RHC (or similar applications).


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • If participating on the Epic EHR project, employee must achieve Epic certification on designated EHR modules within 90 days of attending vendor training. Employee must also maintain certification with every upgrade to retain position.
