PRACTICE MANAGER- PRESENCE MEDICAL GROUP

This position is located at 3500 west Peterson Avenue, Chicago, IL 60659

The Practice Manager manages administrative and patient care functions of a large,comprehensive practice clinic including strategic planning, operations, finance, budget, and human resource management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the practice in correlation with the goals and objectives agreed with by the providers and administrative leaders; ensures that business strategies and new business services are developed and in alignment with current trends, market place and system goals.


  • Assists with measuring practice success factors as they relates to strategies and provides input on new goal development and realignment based on findings using industry standards and market place standings.


  • Investigates new services and assists in performing cost benefit analysis, promotional development and determination of resources.


  • Coordinates all human resource functions of the practice including: staff schedules, time off requests, interviewing and hiring of new staff, orientation and training, performance appraisals and feedback, and problem resolution. Participates in progressive guidance and disciplinary actions.


  • Prepares timesheets for payroll processing and submits within established timeframe to ensure that staff is paid correctly and on time. Assesses current and future staffing needs based on practice initiatives and strategic plans.


  • Ensures practice is operating efficiently through the planning, coordinating and implementing of goals, objectives, procedures and systems inclusive of front end duties such as scheduling and registration, clinical functions such as direct care and back end processes such as medical record management, charge entry, billing and reconciliation processes. Monitors progress frequently taking appropriate actions as required.


  • Oversees informational technology functionality of practice electronic medical record (EMR) systems, diagnostic systems and ensures appropriate training is provided, compliance measures are met and equipment is present.


  • Researches and resolves issues or concerns regarding office operations, functions and related matters or refers unusual problems to leadership.

  • Ensures that resources including equipment and supplies are present and in excellent working condition. Maintains required certifications and agreements with diagnostic testing equipment.


  • Participates in the annual operating and capital budget process by providing recommendations, monitoring budget to identify variances, and making appropriate adjustments or notifying leader of issues. Manages practice within budgetary guidelines.


  • Ensures quality of work performed by direct reports in area of responsibility and that QI reports are requested within the established time frames by monitoring and following-up on any issues.


  • Collaborates with Quality team to ensure that key quality data measures are in compliance and achieved. Shares results with providers and staff. Assists in developing processes to improve defined areas of opportunities.

  • Maintains a safe and effective working environment for all staff and providers. Identifies deficiencies and seeks resolutions and improvements utilizing appropriate resources.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum of two years of practice management experience is required.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related clinical area preferred. Experience and knowledge of medical office operations, billing and finance preferred.

Computer Skills

Advanced computer knowledge including Microsoft Word and Excel applications required.

Knowledge of physician office database software preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CPR certification required.
