Benefits Administrator

The Safer Foundation helps people with criminal records re-enter their communities. Safer has been working for over 40 years to reduce recidivism by helping people with records obtain employment and social services.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for administering various employee benefit programs, such as FMLA, workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance and the group life, medical, dental, disability and retirement programs. The incumbent is also responsible for the maintenance of employee records and related procedures and processes for all Safer employees.

 

In addition to the above, the Benefits Administrator is responsible for coordinating the annual United Way campaign including the Day of Caring event; the quarterly Capturing the Values Campaign; the annual All Staff Assembly; and, collaborating with other team members to present at the monthly New Employee Orientation sessions; facilitating several Supervisory Review Sessions as well as being part of the interview panels for Mass Hiring Events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·   3 to 5 years’ successful experience administering employee benefits plans and programs.

·   Strong analytical skills and a basic knowledge of plan designs.

·   General knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs.

·   Excellent communication (oral & written), organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to clearly communicate benefits to employees as well as working alongside external plan administrators and partners.  

·   Knowledge of and familiarity with payroll/employee databases; ADP preferred.

·   Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with both internal and external audiences.

·   Ability to effectively plan and set priorities. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

 ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

·   Bachelor's degree in HR Management or related discipline
