General Summary:

The Sector Manager II is responsible for sourcing businesses to become a part of Safer’s Demand Skills Collaborative and to identify qualified candidates and place them with these businesses. Employers are consistently being recruited for Safer, generating job orders or other opportunities (consistent with the skill level of Safer Foundation clients) created by engaging those employers at a corporate level. Qualified client candidates will be consistently recruited and matched to the needs of partner employers.

The Sector Manager II will work with the Account Executive II to secure, develop or expand contracts with corporate entities. In addition, will collaborate to map company needs and develop industry specific career pathways that are aligned with client needs, i.e., transitional, temporary and permanent job opportunities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with Account Executive II to develop an outreach plan to grow corporate relationships and net job starts and/or training opportunities through the creation of new opportunities, expanding existing ones, and becoming a resource to the business sector.
  • Works with collaborative members to develop a recruitment needs analysis and conduct candidate screening that meets the needs of collaborative members.
  • Implements outreach plan and conducts ongoing candidate screening to identify and place qualfied candidates in collaborative partners vacancies or approved training programs.
  • Works with clients and approved training partners to develop candidates with the aptitude and interests to create a pipeline of qualified canidates by industry.
  • Places target number of individuals in assigned industry positions and training opportunities annually, meeting job, retention, employer and wage goals.
  • Regularly interfaces with decision-makers within corporate environments through meetings, forums, site visits and participation in networking events that impact the creation of training or job opportunities.
  • Prepares reports and presentations for delivery to decision makers that creates new opportunities resulting in industry training or jobs for Safer clients.
  • Collaborates internally with members of Safer’s Workforce Development, Finance and Direct Service program staffs in the development of opportunities.
  • Conducts research and reviews national and local trends in private industry workforce development, and provides reports to senior management to aid in better targeting private industry needs.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Industry terminology, occupation, certification, trends and major player knowledge a plus.
  • Proven skills in candidate sourcing, preferably in human resources, staffing or workforce development
  • Knowledge of the intricacies of how corporate decisions are made
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills as they are applied in a sales environment
  • Proven ability to be self-motivated and outcome driven
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others within and external to Safer
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within a diverse constituency
  • A valid driver’s license as well as access to a (reliable) vehicle is required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant work experience accepted
  • Two plus years successful B2B marketing and selling experience
  • Experience developing and delivering reports and presentations to key corporate officials
  • Demonstrated research skills
  • Experience in HR or a recruiting capacity
