The Director of Research and Analysis is responsible for managing Safer’s research and analysis projects. The Director is also responsible for supporting Safer’s research and analysis capabilities with external partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists Senior Managers in developing methodologies, processes/procedures, and data integrity related protocols for research-based projects
- Resolves research issues and questions of methodology, analysis, and interpretation
- In the area of Data Analysis Planning/Execution, designs and prepares data analysis plans and designs reports
- In the area of Data Interpretation and Reporting, synthesizes and integrates large amounts of data into compelling, concise deliverables including proficiency with data visualization and storytelling
- Facilitates the establishment of research partnerships with external agencies and organizations
- Supports development team on grant requests
- Publishes articles in peer-reviewed journals and Safer’s publications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Direct experience conducting research or managing research teams
- Outstanding analytical and strategic thinking capacity and skills
- Proficient in qualitative and quantitative research designs, data collection methods, and types of research
- MS Office, word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Database software, proficiency in statistical software (SPSS)
- Advanced writing and public speaking skills
Education and Experience:
- MBA, Master’s degree or higher in public policy, public administration, social sciences, or law
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ of experience in research and analysis
- Preference for candidates with knowledge of the criminal justice field and the barriers faced by individuals with criminal records and how to remediate them
