CDW LLC seeks a Data Science Manager at its Lincolnshire, IL office to oversee the analysis and interpretation of data and reports of activities to assist with the consultation of market-specific opportunities, analytics and trends and investment of dollars; translate business questions and concerns into specific hypothesis and quantitative questions that can be answered using data science and machine learning methodologies; apply statistical and machine learning knowledge to specific business problems and data; lead the R&D arm of the analytics, modeling and reporting activities, as well as the development of data strategy and governance; oversee the execution of business analytics to identify competitive analysis and industry benchmarks, and to drive business planning; improve existing methodologies by developing new data sources, test model enhancements, and fine-tune model parameters; transform, standardize and integrate data sets to develop data marts for data science use cases; work as a data strategist and predictive modeler by researching, identifying and integrating datasets and innovative algorithms that drive products and services forward; perform data exploration and foundational data analysis in support of long-term analytics objectives; lead a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers; define and lead design and development of foundational growth enablers; build, motivate and mentor teams of technical resources and data science specialists; implement highly optimized data analytics processing algorithms on big data batch and stream processing frameworks using R, Python, MATLAB, C, C++, Java, Hadoop MapReduce, Spark; provide critical business support through the development and deployment of advanced statistical analyses and models; collaborate with cross-functional leaders to stimulate “best in class” analyses and models; and prioritize, assign and manage department activities and projects in accordance with departmental goals and objectives.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in data science, operations research, engineering, economics, mathematics or other quantitative field, plus 7 years post baccalaureate, progressive data science experience including development of algorithms and models using R or Python and machine learning methodologies.
