SUMMARY
The Distribution Technician I stocks supplies, pick orders, replenish PAR carts and areas, and distributes incoming supplies to departments. Assists in receiving functions as applicable. Decontaminates, cleans, and distributes equipment. Responsible for delivery/pick up of mail, supplies, linen and equipment between off-site Presence Health facilities and outside businesses via company vehicles. Performs all functions related to mail processing and distribution. Completes all required computer transactions to maintain the inventory system, and the patient charge system for all functions listed as applicable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Fills and delivers supply orders for all departments according to schedule and on an as-needed basis. Performs related inventory transactions to department's expense budgets for supplies issued or returned. Notifies supervisor of any discrepancies or stock outs in inventory.
  2. Inventories and replenishes exchange/PAR level, OR case, procedure, and crash carts. Completes inventory transactions for all related charges and credits to department's expense budgets for supplies issued or returned, and complete labeling, charging and monitoring of patient charges as applicable.
  3. Assists in unloading trucks, receiving and checking in supplies and equipment. Delivers products to ordering departments, and stock shelves with incoming product. Reports any discrepancies to Distribution Technician II or Lead Distribution Technician.
  4. Monitors, tracks, delivers, retrieves, cleans, and prepares patient care equipment. Checks for proper function, and notifies supervisor when repair/replacement is needed. Places orders, and completes all required documentation and transactions for rental equipment to ensure proper tracking and billing.
  5. Completes distribution of interdepartmental and US mail, linen, supplies, specimens, printed materials, and other materials to departments. Completes all related records, logs or other documentation associated with these transactions, including charges and credits to patient bills via the patient care computer system for supplies issued or returned.

Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required.

Previous hospital or healthcare knowledge of medical/technical terminology preferred.

Computer Skills
Valid driver's license required.
