SUMMARY

The Director, Admissions - Senior Services directs the overall process of the patient/resident admission. Ensures the receipt of all documentation needed for both Federal and State compliance. Ensures the facility optimizes reimbursement through the appropriate collection of deposits and patient liability payments and through accurate and timely monitoring of the Medicaid application process. Acts as primary liaison between the facility and Senior Services Central Business Office and maintains current resident financial information. Ensures accurate input of information for timely accurate billing to be performed on all residents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Completes appropriate admission packet (based on payer source) for each new admission.

  • Ensures facility is in compliance with Federal and State regulations with all required documentation including Department of Nursing screens. Maintains verification of coverage including Medicare day usage, complete contract within appropriate timeframes, complete sex offender and background checks on potential residents.

  • Completes resident intake process. Coordinates with Director of Nursing and/or Case Manager to assure appropriateness of facility admissions. Maintains and communicates accurate record of bed availability.

  • Responds to inquiries about facility. Conducts and arranges facility tours in a timely manner.

  • Generates daily census report and biweekly reports while maintaining and enhancing occupancy percentage at or above budget with a payer mix that meets or exceeds the budget expectations.

  • Maintains Senior Services computer functionality including admissions and discharges, class code changes and month end reconciliation. Maintains computer database daily to ensure accuracy.

  • Develops a strong understanding of facility capabilities and strengths seeking appropriate referrals to leverage these strengths for successful patient outcomes.

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or GED. Minimum one year of experience required.

    Bachelor's degree preferred. Three years of experience preferred.

    Computer Skills

    Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel) required.
