Human Resources Generalist

Summary 
The Human Resource Generalist responsible for the implementation, support and administration of company policies and procedures for the office located in Chicago, IL.  Complete HR tasks under the direct direction of the HR Manager. The primary responsibilities for this role will be support the company’s operations in all areas of HR such as benefits information, maintaining records coach managers on the implementation of company policies and procedures and employment laws. The role coordinates and communicates with levels of employees in the organization which requires strong interpersonal skills.  This role calls for a high degree of professionalism and requires that the employee maintain strict confidentiality as it relates to employee and contractor information.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (but are not limited to) 
  • Administer Human Resources procedures to ensure full compliance with all company policies and local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Maintain personnel records, and job performance documentation.
  • Assist with benefits administration.
  • Receive and process employee questions and requests regarding benefits, wellness program, HRIS System, password and log in questions, etc.
  • Ensure that company personnel records and data system are maintained in a timely, accurate and complete manner that facilitates management decision-making and fulfills all legal requirements and regulations.
  • Work with HR Manager to ensure enrollments are completed on schedule for all benefit programs
  • Enforces Human Resources Policies
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage the exit process
  • Coordinate the preparation and execution of company related events
  • Create reports such as but not limited to- over time, non- work hours, departmental and salary reports as needed
  • Assist with the onboarding process of new employees making sure all documentation is properly completed and processed
  • Partner with employees and managers in assisting with company policies and procedures, employee relations, group benefits, federal and state labor law, and training.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as HR Specialist and/ or Generalist 
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must have intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Suite- Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook (Experience with Paylocity a plus)
  • Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Current knowledge of federal, state and local employment and labor laws
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communications skills
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • Bilingual English- Spanish
