PRODUCTION FOREMAN
JOB DESCRIPTION: PRODUCTION FOREMAN
DUTIES:
-Responsible for daily supervision of the hourly workforce and activities including fabrication, machining, assembly and shift coordination of overall throughput performance in manufacturing.
-Execute, organize and direct the manufacturing personnel which ensure the most effective return on assets.
-Maintain plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital.
-Support set business objectives and productions schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed customers’ expectations.
-Push manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure overall strategic initiatives are met.
-Monitor group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, as prescribed by upper management.
-Support new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving.
-Drive manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.
-Management of set budgets and control spending.
-Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.
-Responsible for the efficient operation, control and optimization of manufacturing equipment.
-Deep understanding of customer/shop drawings and related standards.
-Proficient problem recognition and resolution skill-set.
-Effective communication between other team members across multiple shifts.
-Assure adherence to OSHA, quality, industry and customer specific standards during all phases of production.
-Work closely with manufacturing support to assure effective and efficient process control.
-Play a key role in training and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
-Enforcement of shop rules and safety regulations. Some overtime and travel could be required.
-Maintain an active housekeeping program to ensure a safe, clean and productive facility
-When needed organizes multiple crafts in completion of maintenance activities
-Have an excellent understanding of the equipment capability, limitations and their location within the facility in order to direct activity needed to maintain a highly productive operation
-Proficient with computers including spreadsheets and word processors
Minimum Requirements:
Three (3) years supervisory experience
Good Organizational skills and problem solving skills
High School diploma/GED and relevant work experience, Vocational Degree or College Degree in related field preferred
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Production Manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED; Relevant work experience Some Vocational, College coursework or College Degree in related field preferred.
